Whether you're using your iPhone to listen to music on a business trip or need to use your iPhone's music capabilities to listen to work-related audio, you have a variety of options beyond the music available for sale on iTunes. While your iPhone and iTunes are made to work together, you are not locked into the DRM-protected AAC music offered by the iTunes Store. The iPhone supports multiple audio types, including MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV, M4A and Audible formats such as AAX.
Using Audio Files
1.Decide what files you're adding to iTunes. If you have audio CDs that you want to copy to your iPhone, insert the CD into your computer and open iTunes. Click the CD on the sidebar, select the check boxes beside all songs you want to import and click the 'Import CD' button. Once imported, all songs will be added to your iTunes library and can be added to your iPhone in the same way as other music files.
2.Add your music files, if you're using files instead of music from a CD. In order to add the music to your iTunes library, it will need to be DRM free; if you have DRM-protected WMA files, for instance, they will not work. Open the File menu and select either 'Add File to Library' or 'Add Folder to Library,' depending on how much music you're adding and how you have it stored.
3.Choose the file or folder you're importing and click 'Open.'
4.Plug your iPhone into your computer. When connected, it will show up in the iTunes sidebar.

Copy songs over to your iPhone. If you have your iPhone set to sync with iTunes, just make sure the new files are selected with the check box and set your iPhone to sync. If you don't use syncing, drag the files from your iTunes library over to your iPhone on the sidebar.
6.Disconnect your iPhone to listen to music on your device.

- iTunes on Windows can convert DRM-free WMA files for use with iTunes and the iPhone.
Warning
- Using a program other than iTunes to manage music on your iPhone ranges from complex to impossible; while some users have luck with programs like WinAmp and Songbird, using iTunes is the simplest way to manage your music collection for the iPhone.
